Based on the book title of the same name, by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This painting was created for an exhibit at the Medina County Library, entitled "Poetic License." In place of a brush, I painted the entire painting using scraps of matboard.

As a child, I dreamed of becoming a painter and my dream came true when I was nearing retirement and decided to try my hand at acrylic painting back in 2001. I quickly moved on from acrylics to watercolor, pastel, oil, encaustic, etc., always enjoying the experience of learning a new medium.
